Disa cornuta, the ‘inkspot Disa’ is a fascinating and muscular plant in the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa. Carol studied this orchid on a visit there in 2024 and painted it later at home in her studio. It’s a watercolor painting on Pergamena vellum stretched over a panel. It will soon be traveling with the exhibition ‘Orchids: Jewels of the Plant World’ launching at NYBG in February, 2027.
